Looks good for later tonight. It is clear now! 830 PM at Heritage park upper lot off 7th ave. I will be in the shadows toward the Grotto building. Nice easy walk on good gravel. Great views of the Valley. Will be there at least an hour with my binos. Dress warm. Mark Mc

Found it at 7:30 tonight, just before the moon came up. Out my back deck with beater 10 X 50's No fog at the moment. Not too bad, maybe an impression of a small tail pointing towards Betelgeuse? Otherwise a med small (half a degree?), round glow with gradually brightening core. It would probably be difficult to get someone else to find it who wasn't experienced star hopping.

There is a lengthy power outage here in Mission tonight, with most of the NW side dark. I live within earshot of the big substation and heard aloud bang, went outside. Wow nice sky. Comet Lovejoy looks spectacular in my big binos. Easy to find, off the tip of Aries, between the seven sisters. Do i dare setup the dob or will the lights come on? Please stay off.. MMc

Tonight Comet LJ was conveniently placed for us dob users. Even with the nearby Moon it looked awesome using any eyepiece. A slight green blue color with a hint of tail,LoveJoy didn't have much hype associated with it,but it has been very nice. For once we have had a nice weather window to see. Hope other get out and see this before it's gone. MMc
