I believe Mark McLaughling had that particular coating on his 16 inch Light Bridge. But then had it re-coated with a much better coating. You might want to talk to him. We used the same coating on the 20 inch. Looks awesome and works awesome.

Meh! He will when he has a moment I'm sure... no worries. And I'm not sure when he's heading up to Merritt by the sounds of things he's prepping for it.

Over the years we have found that some enhanced coatings didn't last as long and were difficult to get off to recoat. Sometimes the old coating had to be polished off and then the mirror had to be refigured before it could be recoated. For optical elitists one never wants the hard to get figure worn off just to recoat.
I believe Carl Zambuto zambutomirrors.com/index.html uses a standard coating (92% or 94% ?) with a single silicon dioxide overcoating. That way it can be removed and recoated without destroying the great (and expensive) figure. These regular coatings tend to stay bright for many years of service.

Good for you Craig.
Quite often there is a need for someone to run the cub 20 inch. It will be at Merritt. But bring your smaller scope and see what it can do before you step up in size.
All the best with the 16.
Darrell.
