Unfortunately this years event has been cancelled due to the Cov-19 virus pandemic. The Executive deemed it necessary to protect us all from this scourge. We don't want any one getting sick or worse.
We are waiting to secure some camping space at the pit for a small number of people, but this year there will be no washrooms. Unless you can bring your own facilities AND IF WE CAN secure permission we may have an unofficial star quest.
So to be clear, no fees, no prizes, no talks, no washrooms will be on site. The rules will be no telescope, no toilet, no camping. In the past years we were OK to camp when we wanted to observe, non star quest times, but we always had to have the above mentioned equipment. This year, Parks and MOTI is worried that our area will be used by overflow campers from the nearby lake. They don't want it used a such. Too many illegal campfires and 1000's of shotgun shells make it a real mess!
As soon as i know either way i will update this thread..... MMC
