Hello to both FVAS members and members of the public,
The FVAS regrets to announce that the Public Viewing session scheduled for today, Saturday March 29, 2014 has been cancelled due to poor weather.
Please remember visit the FVAS website regularly and to be aware of the section called FVAS Calendar. One can click onto this tab to view FVAS activities in the current month, and may also advance to the upcoming month in order to view future activities, and be able to plan for them accordingly.
I would like to especially draw your attention to an activity that is scheduled for next Saturday, April 05, 2014. It is called, Starry, Starry Night. Clicking on that entry on the FVAS Calendar will bring up the fact that this special event will be held at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, BC on that date. Please click on the Starry, Starry Night listing on April 05th for complete information concerning this Event!
Please also know that you can change the month that is being viewed on the FVAS Calendar. For example, you can change the month that you are looking at to show April, 2014, and get a complete view of what is happening for the upcoming month. The advantage to doing this is that one can then make plans to come out with the family and enjoy activities such as Starry, Starry Nights on April 05th, and/or the Public Viewing session that is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2014. We would love to see you at one or both of these events - "weather permitting, of course." If conditions appear to be marginal or "iffy" please come back to this page close to the time of the event itself, in order to check and verify whether or not the weather will permit the planned viewing session to occur. Thank you.
Finally, please be aware of the Lunar Eclipse that will be occurring on April 15th. Time and Date.com has the eclipse beginning just before 10 pm in our part of the world, reaching Totality just after Midnight! It should be a wonderful sight! Again, let us all hope for good weather! (My most memorable Total Lunar Eclipse viewing was with my wife while on vacation in Seaside, Oregon some years ago. We saw everything, including all of the steps leading up to totality, where the Moon turned an amazing red colour. We had a wonderful time, and danced on the beach)!
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone! Sincerely, Bob
