I live in central Abbotsford with a very treed yard, so I usually go here: goo.gl/maps/Z2zNnIt is noticeably darker then my neighbourhood near Rotary Stadium. The trees on the south east block any light from the closest house and barn. It can get breezy, as you are by the river. I have seen Coyotes a few times near Page road, not at the end by the parking spots (only enough for three to five vehicles since March of this year). The site works great for me, as I just setup out the back of my car. Its relatively level, and usually very clean. -I used the short url option this time, it seems the forum doesn't like the full length type

Welcome Adhamh, Your link only got me to western Canada. Perhaps if you used Google Earth latitude and longitude coordinates we could zoom into it. I too live near the Rotary Stadium. Our club most often meets at Macdonald Park at the west end of Number 3 Road in the Sumas flats on Moonless Saturday nights. --- check the Calendar on the FVAS home Page and watch this board for confirmation that we'll be there. (Someone with a key has to be there or you can get locked in.) Personally I like to observe in a spot near Chilliwack Lake. It's in the light gray on the new Light Pollution Map. cleardarksky.com/lp/ChllwckLkBClp.html?Mn=Solar%20PowerHopefully this next week's clearer weather will stabilize and we'll get a chance to get out. Darrell.
