Currently Swede and I are planning on heading out to Shylock tomorrow night. We will confirm this on this thread by 18:00 tomorrow night. If interested and need the driving instructions, send me a personal message on this board with your email address.

Yes, it's a go. I'll be there around 9:35ish. With the smog blown in in this heat it should be a good test to see if we're out of it up there.

Last night was very good. Dark from 11:26 to 02:52. The three of us did very well. Sky Quality Meter reading 21.50. +9°C. Seeing was very good. Transparency was very nice. Moderate dew. No bugs. Barnard's Galaxy from the beginning and Ring's IC companion galaxy. But not the Draco Dwarf. Central star in Ring. Bubble neb only fair. Not quite as clean near the end. NGC 891 still not as good as at other times. Swede's 17.5 inch showed the Whirlpool with a nice strong 105° elbow on it's lower arm across from companion. Adhamh's C-8 performed very well, Crescent neb came out well. I borrowed (hogged) Adhamh's 6 mm Ethos for 372X and bagged 15 galaxies in the Hercules Galaxy Cluster, some that weren't listed in Uranometria. Should have used a larger photograph and managed more. Haven't checked the magnitude limits in there yet. 125 km from my house in Clearbrook. Hour and 10 min to site at a decent speed. Smog pretty much stayed behind in the Fraser Valley. Only night that might work for me is Thursday. Will have to play it by ear. Others may be thinking Friday. Moonless Run ends this weekend. Will start new thread if heading out again. Darrell.
