well this is the newest pic of the sun taken on sept 4 it is 4 pics combined the alignment was slightly off in the 4 pics for some reason they were all the same settings but the sun was setting it was around 7 30 ish i was using my solar filter with the moon filter just to reduce the contrast and hope to catch more details way big difference from the first pic lol the focus issue was solved don't use diagonal when using cam as you can see the moon and this pic of the sun was way more clear and alot of clarity in sunspots and hot zones around them Attachments:

I am planning on using software from here: www.stark-labs.com/index.html . Since you are using OSX I am not sure if there are any solutions available from Stark Labs. They do have a few programs available for your OS, but I don't know if they are what you are looking for. When I am looking for software I usually give sourceforge a check. sourceforge.net It is a very good place to start looking for freeware programs with people that actually care how they work making it, as they usually find it almost as fun to make as to use.

nothing seem to work with osx i see though their is programs that will run a windows program on macs haven't tried yet but is on the celestron website. i have a power inverter now and can take my old window laptop with me and then just photo shop the final pic at home later. it is different doing it this way i can only fit about a quarter of the sun in the frame and the one above their was 4 pics put together in photo shop its long process but i really enjoy it definatly keeps me busy
